Green cardamom pods have a fresh, floral flavour with a warm, powerful and spicy aroma. Cardamom consists of a green pod filled with small black seeds with an intense, fresh taste. The use of cardamom enhances both savoury and sweet flavours.

The green pods are used in tea, soups and sauces. Cardamom is irresistible in drinks such as coffee (Arabic coffee), hot wine (mulled wine) and chocolate milk. Gives spicy freshness to stews and other dishes.

Cardamom gives a lot of extra flavour to sweet cakes, pies and jams. It is great with preparations with fruit such as apples, pears and oranges. It is also very well known as a spice in gin&tonic.

Usage

Cardamom works well in combination with chilli powder, cinnamon, cloves, coriander, cumin, paprika, pepper and saffron.
